Government contractor seeks part-time Business Process Analyst with publishing experience to write requirements and publish the DoD travel policy.

Job Type: 10-month project through May 2018
Hours/Schedule: 20 hours/week, mostly on-site at the Mark Center in Alexandria
Rate: TBD 
Job Description: This position will work with Policy Analyst and Operational Research Analyst to write requirements on the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) process AND facilitate the creation of a web-based version of the JTR to publish onto the government website.

  • Review and analyze the current publication process for the government’s joint travel regulations with respect to how it tracks and manages all new updates
  • Develop business requirements and procedures based on the simplified policy framework to support the publication process which aims to eliminate laborious manual procedures for future changes and updates
  • Use Government-approved PDF format-capable web publishing software to create a web-based version of the entire revised joint travel regulations
  • Work closely with policy writers to add the revised policy write-ups to the new publication software
  • Provide quality control of the web-based travel regulation policy
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Information Systems. Master degree is desired
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in using different publishing software to manage and publish large documents
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in analyzing business process, identifying business process improvement, and defining system requirements to support business processes
  • Must also have solid writing and editing skills and experience
  • Must have general experience in system development life cycle
  • Must be familiar with most current publication software packages
  • Prior government contracting experience desired
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Must be US Citizen
  • Security Clearance and Public Trust Preferred
