We match companies looking for seasoned part-time employees to professionals looking for meaningful part-time work.  We have become the leader in this niche market in the DC area and were named by Forbes as a Top Staffing Firm for Part-Time Work.  We are headquartered in Northern Virginia, have approximately 12 part-time staff members and have grown over 60% annually since our launch in 2010.  Most of our candidates are working moms, freelancers or not-quite-retirees with bachelor’s and/or advanced degrees and ten or more years of professional work experience.  Our clients are mostly small, medium-sized and high-growth companies looking for smart and economical staffing options. 
 
Location: Virtual but will require in-person presence in Boston metro area to meet with business clients and attend networking events.
 
Job Type: Direct. This is a permanent part-time job opportunity.
 
Hours/Schedule: Approximately 10 to 15 hours/week.  Most of the work is virtual and schedule is flexible.  Hours will fluctuate up or down weekly, depending on networking events and client meetings. 

Salary:  Compensation is composed of a base salary of $12,000 annually plus commission on gross profit of placements that are closed as a result of leads generated. Target commissions are $5K - $10K for the first year as customer base is being built with significant increase annually thereafter. Opportunity to grow into an Account Executive role managing client accounts, if desired.

Job Description:  The Sales Consultant will be an integral part of Boston's FlexProfessionals' team and will be instrumental in promoting the value of a part-time, flexible staffing model to growing businesses, specifically in a vertical industry sector such as non-profit, government contractor, financial services or other.  The focus of this role is to identify target clients in the Boston area, develop lead generating strategies and generate and qualify leads, specifically open part-time or flexible job requisitions for FlexProfessionals to fill. Leads will be handed off to Boston's Account Manager(s) to execute recruiting activities and make placements. Responsibilities of the Sales Consultant role are outlined below.
  • Research and identify new sources of B2B prospects in Boston’s non-profit, government contractor, financial services or other community and generate interest in and introduce companies/organizations to FlexProfessionals’ services. 
  • Initiate and develop relationships with prospective clients through:
    • Cold and warm calls, both over the phone and via e-mail, with decision makers.
    • Attending targeted networking and other events to raise awareness of FlexProfessionals’ services and expand prospect network.
    • Leveraging social media and email campaigns to connect with prospects.
    • Building alliances and relationships with "connectors" to help expand market.
  • Communicate to prospective clients FlexProfessionals' mission and model, the strength of our part-time professional talent pool, and the value of our candidates to growing businesses trying to build out staff on a budget.
  • Meet with prospective clients to learn more about their businesses, understand their current and future staffing requirements and share with them FlexProfessionals’ service offerings and value.
  • Qualify leads and where possible secure a job posting and/or set up face-to-face meetings.
  • Pass leads onto Account Manager.
  • Follow up on sales activities with potential customers and analyze the effectiveness of lead generation efforts.
  • Mine for leads through job boards and sites.
  • Assist in recruiting for candidates through personal and local networks, if needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of B2B sales experience.  Experience working in a professional services organization preferred.
  • Significant experience in and current relationships with organizations in the non-profit, government contractor or other vertical industry segment.
  • Strong track record of selling to senior-level management. 
  • Strong in-person and electronic networker with discipline to track, nurture and leverage relationships.
  • Belief in the part-time/flexible staffing model and ability to effectively sell its value proposition.
  • Highly articulate with strong written communications skills.
  • Good listener, polite, persistent, and strong ability to think on feet. 
  • Independent, self-starter, able to prioritize with excellent time management.
  • Ambitious, energetic and gregarious.
  • Team player who enjoys working in a collaborative environment.
  • An all-hands-on-deck attitude towards helping the whole enterprise succeed by willing to help out in other areas of the business. 
  • Well-versed in MS Office Suite and a quick-learner who can master online database system.
  • Flexibility to attend networking events approximately 2 times per week, some of which may be early morning and/or after-hours.
