Materials science company seeks part-time HR & Benefits Manager.

Position: HR & Benefits Manager (Part-time)

Company:   A materials science company that designs and produces an advanced solid polymer, enabling a new generation of technology performance, focused currently on improving battery performance.  The business is an innovation leader in its space and, having developed breakthrough materials, it is in growth mode.   
Location: Woburn, MA

Schedule: Part-time approximately 25 hours per week, 5 hours a day (in office)

Job Type: Contract to perm with opportunities for growth
Salary/Rate: $35 to $40/hr.

Job Description:  Support the company’s high performance culture by guiding the effective operations of internal human resources activities.  Specific duties include:
  • Lead the recruitment process to include creating of job description, sourcing candidates, scheduling interviews and providing feedback.
  • Manage the on boarding process of new employees and exit interviewing of outgoing employees
  • Lead the administration of health and wellness benefit programs, and implementation of benefit program changes and events.
  • Lead and support other human resource activities related to training and development, diversity, employee engagement, etc, as needed
  • Manage and maintain annual performance evaluations and any career progression programs
  • Evaluate and make recommendation to enhance existing HR-related policies and programs as well as employee policies and procedures
  • Manage and maintain all employee records, directories and organizational charts
  • Manage and maintain salary bands that are benchmarked to industry and market norms
  • Providing customer service to employees as well as external stakeholders and point of contact with HR related vendors and partners
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field
  • 5 years of human resource or related experience
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently or as a supportive member of a team with a positive attitude
  • Desire to work in a small business environment that is fast paced and rapidly growing with the ability to be flexible to and adapt to dynamic priorities and tasks
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (especially Excel and Word)
