Position: Human Resource Administrator

Location: Metro West, MA

Schedule:  3 to 4 days a week.  
Salary/Rate: commensurate with experience

Job Description: In this role the HR Administrator will play a key role in the growth and expansion of the organization.  Responsible to manage transactional areas of HR such as onboarding, employee relations, payroll and benefits.  Partner with business leaders and senior level management to ensure delivery of superior human capital services.  Reports to Director of HR.  Core responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Process general Human Resources transactions such as completion of new hire paperwork, benefits enrollments and administration; tracks and completes changes to employee records, organizing and maintaining records; preparing HR documents
  • Assists with administration of benefits, providing benefits packages to new employees, processing benefit transaction with various on-line vendor sites and answering questions pertaining to benefits.
  • Maintains high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and information.
    Performs other administrative duties including processing background checks, on-boarding new employees and providing outstanding customer service to clients.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Human Resources, Administrator will assist with sourcing, recruitment, interview, hire and on-boarding process for both the Corporate Office and Retail
  • Conduct pre-screening initial interviews, schedule face-to-face interview between hire managers and potential candidates
  • Help to develop, deploy and support programs
  • Facilitate any compliance related training such as anti-harassment, diversity or discrimination.
  • Act as coach and mentor to employee base, work with Managers to provide Human Resources subject matter expertise
  • Assists with the company-wide performance evaluation process
  • Serve as first point of contact for all employee questions pertaining to HR
  • Assists in maintaining a collaborative environment by utilizing an “open door” policy to acknowledge employee problems or concerns in a timely manner
  • Assists in maintaining effective employee communication channels
  • Act as a trusted advisor
  • Implement Human Resources initiatives as needed

  • Maintain a safe work environment for co-workers
  • The Human Resource Administrator will perform payroll administration for exempt and non-exempt employees, including but not limited to, commissions, taxes and benefit deductions.
  • Process payroll for weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycle
  • Maintain logs for employee changes, terminations and deductions
  • Maintain all employee folders to include personnel changes, direct deposits, status and wage changes etc. 
  • Post specialty pay premiums and post quarterly bonuses or commissions as applicable.
  • Review time cards for correct entries, job numbers and accurate pay codes
  • Process and maintain audit trails for all payroll transactions, including but not limited to new hires, deductions, direct deposit, rate and position changes
  • Responds to employee questions regarding payroll, taxes, pay, etc. and resolves paycheck errors as appropriate.
  • Prepares and produces special reports on request.
  • Complete annual ACA reporting in conjunction with the Director of Human Resources.  Complete additional monthly reporting as needed.
   Required Experience:
  • 4 Year College degree
  • 2+ years of relevant HR experience, preferably in the fashion / apparel industry
  • 2+ years of direct payroll  administration experience, experience with Paychex a plus
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Intermediate knowledge of federal/state employment laws, including Title VII, ADA and FLSA.  Ability to apply Federal, State and local laws to real-life situations
  • Professional demeanor, poise and confidence
  • Strong business acumen
  • Candidate must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. In addition they must be computer literate.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees. Strong administrative, communication, and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to deal with employees at all levels, some of whom require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy
