Position: ALM Analyst (part-time)

Company:   Registered investment advisory firm. Offers portfolio management, financial planning, risk and investment management, asset allocation, investment supervisory, and asset management services.
Location: Wellesley Hills, MA

Schedule: Approximately 25 to 35 hours per week, depending on candidate's availability and desire.  Hours are flexible but must be within business day. 

Job Type: Contract to Permanent
Salary/Rate: $30/hr

Job Description: ALM analyst responsibilities include:
  • Initially, the bulk of the work would be in converting data used in the bank’s Asset Liability Management simulation model (ALM6). 
  • Operation of a bank simulation model, specifically BancWare Convergence.
  • Quarterly production of simulation Asset Liability Management (ALM) reports for multiple bank clients.
  • Combination of interpreting different bank financial data, transforming client data into consistent, usable simulation format, analyzing pro-forma financial information, and communicating analytical results both verbally and in writing.
  • Frequent communication with bank clients related to process scheduling, ALM strategies, regulatory compliance and quarterly simulation assumption development.
  • Ideal candidate has prior experience with bank accounting and bank financial statements. Prior preparation and analysis of bank financial statements extremely useful.
  • Strong working familiarity with Excel spreadsheet programs necessary.
  • Prior working with ALM simulation beneficial but not required.
  • Understanding of bank regulatory compliance requirements helpful.
Technical Requirements
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Extensive use of computer programs and multiple spreadsheets involving numbers required.
  • Ability to learn BancWare Convergence simulation program through on the job training with actual client data needed.
  • Must be able to talk with bank clients and explain sometimes complex financial issues.
  • Must be able to lead discussion with group of people facilitating assumption development through timely and appropriate questions.
  • Should be able to write analysis of ALM reports for presentation to clients.
  • Should be able to present ALM reports, explain results, and introduce relevant ideas and strategies.
  • Strong organizational skills needed.
  • Strong multi-tasker.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet various client deadlines.
  • Time management vital as work is always subject to client deadline.
