Position: Human Resources Generalist

Location:  Washington, DC, near Dupont metro , some work can be done remotely 
 
Job Type: On-going  consulting 
 
Hours/Schedule:  Approximately 15 hours weekly, schedule is flexible just needs to be consistent 

 
Rate:  $30-35/hr, possibly more based on experience

Job Description:  
  • Payroll & Timesheets -Coordinate timesheet submittal and make any needed adjustments to a Paychex-generated ‘time sheet’ report and make make sure all is processed correctly  for 25 employees
  • Update new hires, rates, deductions, and personal information as needed with Paychex bi-weeky.
  • Research and implement any automation available.
  • Benefits -manage compliance , worker’s comp and update as needed. 
  • File and manage claims on an as needed basis.   
  • Prepare bi-monthly reports for management .  
  • Prepare bi-monthly CPI payroll reports .   
  • Manage loan repayment for departing employees as needed.     
  • Health Insurance- manage enrollments and departures , and deductions .   
  • Audit monthly invoices .   
  • Update wrap document .    
  • Administer DC COBRA as needed .    
  • SmartBenefits- prepare bi-monthly report for management and add and remove employees as needed .   
  • Disability-monitor  Life + AD & D .   
  • Manage enrollments, departures, and update for changes in employee base rates .    
  • HSA -manage enrollments and departures and manage deductions, if any employees enroll.  
  • Prepare bi-monthly report for management if any employees enroll.
  • Leave Accruals -manage sick and vacation leave accruals and tracking sheet and research and implement automation.
  • New Employee Onboarding/Orientation -manage offer letters and on-boarding paperwork , coordinate first day orientation with supervisor.
  • Recruiting -post new positions to ATS and other sites as needed .   
  • Post internships to local schools as needed . 
  • Manage job descriptions/classifications updates as needed .
  • Performance Reviews -coordinate 90-day, Mid-Year and Year-End process and paperwork.
  •  Distribute forms, support reviewers, track and follow up to ensure completion .   
  • Compensation Planning -coordinate recommendations process .  
  • Employee Handbook and Policy Review-make updates when necessary.    


Qualifications: 
  • Minimum 5+ years of business and human resources experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or a related field
  • HRIS is a plus
  • Previous experience working with Paychex a plus 
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Must be trustworthy and detail-oriented
  • Expertise using Microsoft Office Applications
