Renewable energy finance and program management company seeks part-time software application developer.

Position:  Software Developer

Company: Growing renewable energy finance and program management company that runs renewable energy programs on behalf of utilities and public entities in the U.S.

Location: Candidate will work onsite initially in the office in Annapolis.  After initial training majority of the work can be done remotely with onsite meetings on Wednesdays. Developer will need to interact with the company's program managers at least one day a week, however besides that the schedule and location are flexible as long as the developer is producing good code and doing a good job interfacing with the rest of the team. This position is ideal for those returning to the workforce or who would value a flexible working environment.

Hours / Schedule:  20 hour/week, with flexibility based on company and candidate's needs, if candidate desires 40 hours weekly work can be provided 

Pay Rate:  $40 to $50/hr depending on skill set.

Job Description:  The Company currently runs several programs all based on the same basic software platform which is built using PHP, the CodeIgniter framework, MySQL, and Bootstrap. The software platform handles incoming applications for customers for renewable energy grants and other similar programs, allows admin team to review and approve applications, and provides reporting to clients. Software developer will be responsible for making modifications and additions to this platform as needed, both to optimize current programs and to allow addition of new programs.

Requirements: 
  • Prefer a developer who is already proficient in PHP
  • CodeIgniter experience a plus  
  • Experience with financial platforms a plus 
  • Client is willing to consider a candidate who has a computer science, electrical engineering, or other similar technical degree and is proficient in at least one programming language, and can come up to speed in PHP, especially if candidate has a background in renewables or energy efficiency.
