Small PR and advertising firm in McLean, VA in need of an Office Assistant to work directly with the owner.  This is a hands on job organizing and helping with  PR and project management tasks. This is a great opportunity for the person with the required skills to learn and grow in this role.

Job Type:  Temp to Direct This is a part-time permanent opportunity. 

Hours/Schedule:  Approximately 10-15 hours/week. 3-4 hours twice a week on site in McLean, Va.  4 hours remotely. Extremely flexible regarding days, school holidays & family obligations 
 
Rate:  $20-$25/hour
 
Job Description:  Assist owner/president with administrative, project management and organizational tasks.  Opportunity for added responsibilities writing and website upkeep. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Office organization and filing
  • Infrequent drops offs to UPS and U.S. Post Office
  • Opportunity to write news releases and blog posts, if candidate desires this experience, or to be published – not required for the position
  • Social media scheduled posting through Hootsuite to include LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter & Google+
  • Comfortable and unfazed by learning new software platforms and technology (such as Higher Logic, Constant Contact, Survey Monkey, Talent LMS, etc)
  • Consumer Relations regarding a certification program. Includes interacting with consumers and customers via email and phone calls. Manage this outreach by confirming compliance, sending reminders, and manage form submissions 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience as an administrative assistant, office manager, or other support role organizing and managing an office, particularity of a PR/marketing/social media or advertising office
  • Strong organization skills
  • Proficient in MS Outlook and MS Office
  • Familiarity with software platforms such as WordPress, Constant Contact, SurveyMonkey, Cision, Meltwater are a plus
  • Resourceful and efficient
  • Welcomes responsibility, self-disciplined regarding follow through on tasks
  • Able to work in a small office environment (home office) as well as remotely
